Leading a healthy lifestyle isn't easy. And all too often we create excuses for not exercising, eating well or taking care of ourselves. Living well is a choice. And we have the power to make positive changes in our lives each day. My goal at Studio Pulse is to make your workout an "experience." I LOVE music. And using it to motivate, inspire and encourage my students during class is my passion.

Finding a way to make it fun and effective is my goal. My classes are about giving your personal best every time. It takes persistence and discipline but if you are having fun while working out, it will be a hell of a lot easier. I wish to motivate my students so they "get in the mood" for exercise, push them to perform better than their expectations and achieve their fitness goals, one class at a time.
Lisa Weignberg
Originally from Buffalo, NY, I decided almost 8 years ago to move to sunny Southern California. I am a graduate from The Ohio State University where I began teaching all types of fitness classes and have continued for many years after. I became Madd Dogg certified and started teaching Spinning two years ago. I was instantly hooked on the intensity of the workout and the challenge of each class. In addition to Spinning, I am a coach for Team in Training, a non-profit organization that trains for marathons & ½ marathons, while raising money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I am excited to have the opportunity to share my passion for Spinning with others and motivate clients to meet their personal goals while having a great time doing it!

Most of my time on the saddle has been spent riding and racing through the intermountain west. Since 2003, I’ve been competing in cycle tours, triathlons, foot races, and x-terra trail races. And whether it’s by bike, skis, boat, or foot- I always love exploring the natural world. I recently moved to Cali from Salt Lake City, and I love it out here! In addition to instructing spin, I practice massage therapy in Manhattan Beach, and I lead a Parkour group downtown called Traceur-LA. Spin works for me because it provides me with an intense yet non-impact workout that enhances my focus, endurance, and determination. The energy that a room of spinners can create gives me the added oomph that I need to achieve my goals, and in my class you will find the added support to achieve your goals as well. We will strengthen our legs, increase our cardiovascular health, and improve other areas of our athleticism by focusing on spin. And at the end of the workout, we will be energized, refreshed, and ready to tackle the tasks of the day. My routines will challenge you, build you, and motivate you. I’ll provide the music that rocks, and we’ll keep the bass beat bumping with rhythms that will have you coming back for more. So, come out to one of my classes at Studio Pulse, and we’ll spin the cobwebs out of our legs. I’ll have you sweating in no time.

As a yoga instructor, I strive to self study, live with honesty and look with the vision of friendliness. I find motivation in my students. I teach Spinstretch at Studio Pulse.. my favorite stretches are downward facing dog, lunge with variations and pigeon with variations. I play eclectic mixes in my spin and stretch class. Supertramp, sting, the fray, Adele, Mary J. Blige...Come join me to get the full experience at Studio Pulse.

I have been taking and teaching spin classes for over 5 years now. I got into spinning as a way to improve my cycling for triathlons, and decided to get certified and begin teaching to bring my real world experience into the spin studio. I have competed in (and completed) Ironman races 6 times, and I have done countless other triathlons of almost every conceivable distance. I have qualified for the Ironman World Championships and 70.3 Ironman World Championships in 2009, 2010, and 2011, and have been a USA Triathlon All American for the past three years. I design my classes to reflect what I do outside when training, and bring some old school Rock and Roll, mixed with some of today’s hits (thanks to my teen aged daughters), to create a class that is challenging and motivating. I hope to see you in my class soon. Bring your shoes, cycling clothing, lots of water, a good attitude, and be ready to rock!

I started spinning after years of running and having knee and back issues. I had to cut back but wanted that endorphin high. Spinning was intimidating at first and I tell new students you need to give it at least 3 classes before you make a decision if it is for you. I loved it so much that I decided to get certified about 10 years ago. I have a (stressful) job and spinning is the BEST stress relief as well as my passion. I love to find new music and motivate students to push themselves and believe in themselves. FITNESS is a lifestyle and a mind set. And, it allows you to become your BEST SELF. Our bodies do so much for us on a daily basis ~ so take care of yours. Spinning and CORE classes help you not only with strengthening your body but also your lungs and heart and your attitude!

I love fitness and when I teach, it shows. I have a positive and can do attitude towards the students in my class and make them believe it. There is nothing that can't be done without a little focus and dedication and that includes getting in shape.

I motivate people through my energy and love of music. I am HIGH energy but I do focus on SPINNING® routines to accomplish fitness goals; I take people through Aerobic and cardio and endurance training to anaerobic and interval training. It's my goal to keep my students focused and working towards a common goal. That endorphin rush.. a push to a healthier, happier and a more leaner version of ourselves.
Dana Staggs
The music is pumping and so is your heart. You don’t take Dana’s class if you are not in the mood to be challenged. With an emphasis on proper form, technique and training principles Dana’s class is the hardest class that you cannot wait to take again. But this class is for people of all ability levels. The idea is to take you from where you are and help you improve. As an elite level triathlete Dana knows that if you want results that you are going to have to work but this belief is also tempered with the idea that exercise should remain fun and interesting. When Dana is not at Studio Pulse you can find him swimming, bicycling and running with the elite athletes of the LA Tri Club.

I was a athlete all during school. I played Volleyball, Basketball and ran track. So I have all ways been active. I been teaching spinning since 2005.My inspiration to teach was the way spinning challenged me mentally and physically. I’m motivated by the music, energy and the results from spinning .I play all different types of genres of music in my classes***but if has a drum beat it is on!!!! I love doing Endurance rides (long songs) To see the members anticipation to “get up a hill” or “finish a sprint” is priceless!!!.My spin Instructor/friend / mentor Gilda Belle (R.I.P.) who encourage me to teach told me a quote and I cannot say it enough “YOU GET WHAT YOU GIVE FROM YOUR STUDENTS IN YOUR CLASSES” .Every class is not for everyone***At Studio Pulse I guarantee you will find a class that is your FIT!!
Amanda Murphy
My name is Amanda, and I started my love affair with spinning in college. My goal when I wake up each day {except Thursdays, that's my off day ; ) }, is to make a difference in someone elses life and being able to do it through exercise is the most fulfilling way to me. At Studio Pulse I teach three different types of fusion classes; spin stretch, spin sculpt, and spin core! I love all three equally! As an instructor my goal is to focus on maintaining a high intensity workout and creating positive energy through humour on and off the bike.
Katina Calvin
In my early teens, I was a dancer (Ballet, Tap, Jazz & Modern) which was a great foundation for learning body awareness. The introduction into athletics was in middle school PE then as a frehman. I chose Voleyball & Track. On the weekends for cross training, I would cycle and go to the gym with my uncle to participate in aerobic classes...leg warmers, headband and shiny lycra....the works! In college I was fortunate enough to shadow some amazing instructors and that is what inspired me and launched my 22 year obsession in this industry where I have an opportunity to share my passion at achieving Well Being & Being Well. The knowledge I have is of little use to me if it is not passed along to others, so come prepared to be educated, work hard and see some amazing changes in your body, your mind and overall health. I look forward to seeing you in my next class!
Hester Van Hooven
Hi! I'm Hester and I feel really fortunate to be a part of the excellent team at Studio Pulse! When I'm not on the bike, other activities I enjoy are surfing, yoga, and Muay Thai. SPINNING® allows me to consistently push myself through challenging physical work in a safe, controlled, and positive environment. More importantly, I've found that my triumphs on the bike carry over into how I live my life. I feel like I'm stronger and healthier than I have ever been. I attribute this to spin, and I'm crazy about teaching it! For my classes, I combine varied terrain with an array of rocking music to get your blood pumping and your sweat dripping! Whether it's for 30 minutes or 50, each class is designed to strengthen your heart, lungs, and muscles, while tightening the focus of your mind and the belief you have in your own limitless potential. Whether you're an advanced rider or new to spin, my classes offer something for everyone. Come to my class and get ready to unleash some endorphins, work hard, rock out and feel the joy of maximizing your body!
Leslie Newburn
I have been Spinning for years and LOVE it! My classes tend to be geared more towards what you would do on an actual bike than the typical Spin class; think flat road to sprint to climb then back down and of course back up again. There is nothing better than the perfect song to get me going. I spend lots of time on iTunes searching for the perfect Spin songs so I don't get bored with my music. I will try to motivate you with my energy and I will feed off of yours as well. Be ready to sweat, work hard and above all have fun! I hope to keep you coming back for more and have you telling your friends about all the fantastic instructors and classes at Studio Pulse!!!

I love children. They inspire me to be creative, curious to and see joy in simple things. To increase their enjoyment of my classes I create yoga stories, use creative movement and music, and am always open to the children's creativity and ideas they bring into class. I have been inspired by the Yoga Ed Tools for Teachers program which was designed to help children with ADD, and also to help all children to be aware of their positive accomplishments, nutrition and how yoga can help them in school. I also love Groovy Kids yoga and enjoy promoting the ideas that all kids have special qualities and can benefit from yoga in feeling positive about themselves and their bodies, focusing better in school, and in enhancing their energy and creativity.
